Many of our customers ask us how can we do this at such a low price, when some of our competitors charge $500 or more per 7.5 minute quadrangle? The answer is that the US Government has been creating digital maps using your tax money, and making the data available either free, or at a low cost. Then, of course, is the question; why does Sylvan Ascent charge money for this data? The answer is that we have taken the raw government data and made it much easier to use. We have combined data from various government agencies, including the USGS, the Census, the NGS, the BLM, and NASA, to create these maps. Additionally, we have combined and improved the raw government data in many ways, and provide exporters to common CAD and GIS data formats.
