The New Web Site
TopoDepot has a long history, first launched in 1997, as probably the first on-line
mapping data vending site. Since 1997, we have mostly improved the data and processing
programs behind TopoDepot, leaving the actual website essentially unchanged.
So, after 10 years of service, we took what we've learned from all the years of
TopoDepot, and now present the new, improved TopoDepot website. We hope you like
it, if not, please
write us with your suggestions!
First of all, you will notice that now you can see and select just the area you
need, instead of only in chunks of 7.5 minute quads. (However, if you still want
full 7.5 minute quads, you still can, go to the "Search by Quad Name" and check
the "Select Full Quads on Map".)
Secondly, the web site is now a lot smarter. It remembers all your settings, such
as the projection, datum, layer selections etc when you log in.
The Login also serves another purpose. You can also go back and look at, change
settings, and print out invoices for previous orders. This can be really handy,
if you need to change a setting such as the contour interval at 12 midnight.
Our purchase page has been improved and streamlined. Corporate accounts have been
fully automated.
The purchasing process for our DVD products is also much easier.
Finally, overall website security and up-time have been improved considerably.
Thank you for all your suggestions over the past 10 years, TopoDepot is now ready
for the next 10 years!
