This screen capture shows how the contours from the new 10 meter DEM data (Yellow) compare with the 24K DLG (Purple) and the older 30 meter DEM data (Green).

Notice how well the 10 meter DEM contours follow the 24K DLG contours. Since the 24K DLG contours are traced exactly from the original 24K paper maps, this shows that contours from the new 10 meter data are much more precise than the ones from the 30 meter data.
